Hi, I’m Victoria, or Tori! I’m the photographer behind Visuals by Victoria, and I’m a little obsessed with the way love and life look in good light.

Golden evenings, tangled limbs, bare feet, windblown hair, crooked smiles, quiet glances, the way someone reaches for the person they love without even thinking about it. I’m interested in all the small things that make a person, a relationship, or a season of life feel like yours.

I photograph couples, families, and individuals with a focus on warmth, movement, intimacy, and atmosphere. I want my photographs to feel less like something you posed for and more like something you remember, like a little fragment of your own life that somehow became a movie still.

I’ll give you close direction when you need it, but I don’t want to choreograph every second. I want there to be room to move, laugh, wander, get a little messy, and forget about the camera entirely. Some of my favorite photographs happen in the space between the things I asked you to do, the laugh that follows a pose, the moment you reach for each other without thinking, the way the wind catches your hair, the look on your face when you forget I’m there.

Golden light is my favorite collaborator. I love the way it makes skin luminous, softens the edges of things, and can make even an ordinary evening feel a little bit sacred. My editing follows that same instinct: warm, nostalgic, romantic, and intentional. I don’t use presets, ever. I carefully edit every image by hand, giving each photograph the time and attention it deserves.

Photography is also how I make sense of the things I care about most: love, gender, queerness, memory, domesticity, and the beauty of an ordinary life shared with people you love.

A lot of my personal work lives somewhere between portraiture, diary, and archive. Butch Femme Diaries began with a desire to preserve something I loved deeply, my relationship with my finacée. I wanted to remember her as she was, us as we were, and the small, ordinary life we were building together before any of it could become a memory.

Butch Femme Diaries is an ongoing preservation of my own life with my fiancée, a continuing record of the love we share, the home we create, and all the ordinary moments in between. It allows me to keep documenting our relationship as it unfolds, while also contributing our own small piece to a history I wish had been preserved more often throughout history.

Loving her also made me think about all the women who loved women before us, and how much of their lives have disappeared. So much of butch/femme history exists in fragments, in photographs tucked into boxes, old magazines, handwritten letters, and stories passed down by the people who were there. So many relationships were lived quietly and intensely without ever being documented. Women loved each other, built homes together, fought, reconciled, grew old together, and made entire lives that we may never know existed.

That loss bothers me. I don’t want our lives to become another story that survives only through memory.

So this work became a way of documenting not only my own relationship, but a particular kind of queer intimacy as it exists in everyday life. It is about butch/femme identity, devotion, desire, tenderness, and the ways we come to understand ourselves through loving another person. More than anything, it is an attempt to leave something behind, to say that we were here, that we loved each other, and that this life was worth remembering.

I’m interested in photographs that can be beautiful without being purely decorative. Images can be love letters, evidence, memories, questions, little pieces of history. Sometimes they’re all of those things at once.

Whether I’m photographing a couple at golden hour, an individual figuring out how they want to be seen, or someone I love sitting across from me at home, I’m always looking for the same thing: the moment underneath the performance.

Something warm. Something human. Something a little imperfect.

Something worth remembering.
